About Adina Manolescu, DDS
I was born in the city of Roman, Romania. At the age of ten, my parents and I arrived in the U.S. and have made Southern California our home ever since. In 2000, I graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Biology. During my four years of undergraduate studies, I conducted research for the Scripps Research Institute and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals in the field of neuropharmacology and bioinformatics. I am very passionate about science, research and the amazing possibilities of technology. Although I had considered a career as a scientist, I was truly inspired to become a dentist on a trip back to Romania where I volunteered to assist my aunt (who is a dentist) in providing dental care to people living in remote villages and towns. The rewarding experience of alleviating pain, improving another person’s quality of life and self-image, motivated me to choose a career in dentistry. In June 2005, I graduated from the University of Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Shortly thereafter, I returned to Los Angeles to practice dentistry, where I worked in a private dental office for 6 years. I made the move to San Diego in 2011 and I look forward to settling down and starting a family. I strongly believe in furthering my dental knowledge and as a result of my pursuit for dental education, I have been awarded the prestigious Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry. I am also a proud member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Diego County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Over the years I have enjoyed creating beautiful smiles but I am most passionate about the relationships that I have created with my patients, my colleagues and my team. I would like to be known as a person who is positive, always looking for the good in others and as someone who enjoys life to the fullest.
