About Albert Kurpis, DDS
Dr. Albert J. Kurpis received his dental training at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and earned his D.D.S. degree in 1974. Upon graduation, Columbia University asked Dr. Kurpis to join the faculty as an associate professor. For two decades he taught advanced dental implantology and prosthetic dentistry. While at Columbia he headed a research study on implant placement in primate baboons, culminating in his first U.S. patent of the dental implant. It was from there that his life long work in the field of cosmetic dentistry dental implantology began. Dr. Kurpis has lectured extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, South America and the Middle East, teaching thousands of dentists advanced dental implant procedures and cosmetic dentistry. He has published numberous articles on dentistry in both professional and consumer journals and has appeared on various radio and television shows featuring his work. He authored the recent best selling book on cosmetic dentistry, Amazing Smile Though Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Kurpis has been very active in the dental community and is invlolved in many prestigious professional organizations. He served as chairman of Columbia University's 1852 society, one the Universitys highest donor fund-raising groups. He also served on the Dean's advisory council of Columbia University and as a school liiaison representing Columbia's dental school throughout the U.S. He is a past president of the Northeast American Academy Implant Dentistry, a fellow in the prestigious Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, a fellow in the International Society of Osseo Integration, a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health, and a member of number other dental organizations. He is board certified in New York, New Jersey, and California.
