About Bjorn Melander, DDS
Dr. Bjorn Melander received his degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2008. In an effort to stay knowledgeable about the latest dental techniques and technologies, he has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education. Dr. Melander’s extensive studies have earned him the title of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor only 6% of dentists obtain. He is an active member of Spear Education, the largest post-graduate dental learning center in the world. He is a member of a Spear study club and a Spear Faculty Club Member of the Month. Dr. Melander is an experienced cosmetic dentist who has dedicated himself to staying on the cutting edge of dentistry. Dr. Melander has been surrounded by the dental field his entire life. His parents owned a premier dental lab, and growing up he spent his summers creating esthetic dental restorations. He graduated in mechanical engineering at Kansas State University before attending UMKC dental school. Dr. Melander treats all patients as he would his family members, believing that they deserve to be informed of all of their treatment options. He strives to make every restoration better than the last. When not in the office Dr. Melander can be found spending time with his wife Jessica, playing in basketball leagues, reciting Seinfeld episodes, and entertaining their two Jack Russell terriers. Dr. Melander graduated dental school in 2008 and has been committed to continuing education ever since. Dentistry is a quickly evolving field, and treating patients with the most advanced and proven techniques requires a wealth of current information. Dr. Melander typically takes 100 hours of continuing education every year, well over Arizona’s 24 hour requirement.
