About Chanette A. Mcdonald, DDS
Dr. McDonald is an associate dentist serving the Morongo Basin since moving back to Yucca Valley, California in 2016. As of this year, she is the newest addition to the office of Dr. Sheldon Hough, a pillar of Yucca Valley since 1981. Dr. McDonald is dedicated to serving the unique oral health needs of the Morongo Basin, where she grew up. Her goal is to provide exceptional dental care with compassion and understanding. She takes pride in making every patient’s visit a comfortable and caring experience knowing that most find dental appointments to be stressful and anxiety-inducing. As a product of Yucca Valley, Dr. McDonald has been active in the community since childhood exhibited by her two-year reign as Youth of the Year for the Boys and Girls Club of the Hi Desert. Outside of work she enjoys traveling with her daughter and spending time with her family. Upon graduating from Yucca Valley High School in 2002, Dr. McDonald earned a highly coveted spot in Howard University’s Pre-freshman Health Careers Enrichment Program the summer before officially starting college. From there Dr. McDonald earned her B.S. in Biology from Howard University in Washington, DC. She continued to earn her D.D.S. from Howard University’s College of Dentistry before completing a General Practice Residency at St. Elisabeth’s Hospital, the first federally funded psychiatric hospital in the United States, located in Southeast Washington, DC.
