About Cindy N. Berthelot, MD
Dr. Berthelot grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended medical school in Dallas, Texas at the University of Texas Southwestern. She performed her undergraduate work at the University of Houston, where she graduated magna cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Public Health. After medical school, she completed her intern year in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Berthelot then worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, acting as a clinical study physician and research fellow. Her work included several clinical trials dealing with skin cancers, which led to the FDA approval of medications for skin cancer and cutaneous lymphoma. She completed her dermatology residency at University of Texas at Houston/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center program, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Berthelot has been voted as one of America’s Top Dermatologist by Consumers’ Research Council of America. Most recently, she was voted by her colleagues as Texas Monthly Magazine’s Rising Star and Super Doctor five years in a row. Dr. Berthelot is passionate about skin cancer prevention and treatment. She also enjoys educating students and residents about general and cosmetic dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She has special interests in general dermatology, skin cancer treatment and prevention, as well as cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Berthelot is fluent in Vietnamese. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, photography and spending time with her husband.
