About Cindy Flanagan, DDS
Dr. Cindy Flanagan has practiced dentistry in Houston since graduating from the University of Texas Dental Branch in 1989. In 1992, she was chosen by the Greater Houston Dental Society as the local nominee for the Texas Young Dentist Award, and in 2004, she was chosen by the Houston Academy of General Dentistry as their nominee for Texas Dentist of the Year. Dr. Flanagan earned the respected Fellowship Award with the AGD in 1996, just six years after graduation, recognizing the completion of over 500 hours of continuing dental education, as well as her successful passing of a written examination in topics in clinical dentistry. Her most recent postgraduate dental education has been the completion of five continuums at the esteemed LD Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Other courses she has taken include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry program at Louisiana State University. Dr. Flanagan is passionate about dentistry and taking care of her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She has also been chosen by her peers as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, an organization that recognizes ethics in dentistry, as well as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. She is the past president of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Flanagan believes that participating in organizations that emphasize excellence results in providing the best care available to her patients. She recently received her Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry, where she is a spokesperson, enabling her to relay dental health messages to the public. In that role, Dr. Flanagan has been quoted in such magazines as Glamour and Good Housekeeping. Before moving to Houston for dental school, Dr. Flanagan lived in Austin where she graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Biology. While earning her degree, she also spent one semester abroad in Avignon, France, learning the history of the area, as well as how to cook, drink wine, and speak French. Dr. Flanagan grew up in Orange, Texas, and graduated from West Orange-Stark High School.
