About David R. Maahs, DDS
Dr. Maahs is originally from the mid-west state of Iowa and grew up primarily on the San Francisco Peninsula. After finishing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Maahs graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry and started practicing dentistry in Half Moon Bay in 1983. Dr. Maahs has provided volunteer dental services in the past via the Flying Samaritans Dental Group, Migrant Education on the San Mateo County Coast and as the past Dental Director of University Convalescent Hospital in Menlo Park. He has also served as a board member, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President of the San Mateo County Dental Society. In 2010, Dr. Maahs was elected and served as the president of the San Mateo County Dental Societywhich is almost 700 dentists strong. He has also served his dental community at the state level, representing dentists in San Mateo County at the annual California Dental Association’s House of Delegates. In his free time, Dr. Maahs enjoys running full and half marathons, spending time with his five children, attending dental educational meetings and gardening.
