About Edward Bednar, MD
With an artistic background that spans over 25 years, Edward J. Bednar, M.D. offers his patients a rare combination of skilled surgical techniques and artistic talent. Not only an astute medical student, but a talented painter, woodcarver and sculptor, Dr. Bednar was readily accepted into the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program which stressed an artistic and philosophical approach. Dr. Bednar’s hands model with the precision of a sculptor. He speaks the language of art whether he is molding clay or redefining the human body. He unfailingly exhibits as much sensitivity to his patient’s needs as he does to nature’s authenticity. He received his undergraduate degree in 1978 from Wayne State University, and his medical degree 4 years later from Wayne State University of Medicine. He trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, a center recognized for its excellence in plastic surgery for over four decades. Edward J. Bednar, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and a member of both the American Medical Association and the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. His surgical training provided him with diverse experiences in all types of plastic surgery with a special interest in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including breast reduction.
