About Edward A. Marcus, DDS
Dr. Marcus received his undergraduate and dental education at Temple University where he graduated ranked first in his class from dental school and received numerous awards for excellence in dentistry. Dr. Marcus was awarded the American Fund for Dental Health Teacher Training Fellowship for two years to help him attend post-graduate specialty training. His post doctoral training in Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics was completed at Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Marcus is one of only a handful of dentists in the United States that holds American Dental Association accredited specialty certification in both Periodontics and Prosthodontics. Dr. Marcus has over 40 years of experience in dentistry as well as over 25 years of experience in placing dental implants. He has been a leader in the field often being the first to bring the newest and most current techniques to the Bucks County area. Additionally, Dr. Marcus has been responsible for the development of new procedures and techniques in the field. Dr. Marcus has held several faculty appointments at both Temple University School of Dentistry and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine over the last forty years. He is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania as well as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Temple University. Dr. Marcus is an active member of several national societies including the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association, and the American College of Prosthodontists. He is also a member of several local societies some of which are the PA Dental Association, the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society, the Philadelphia County Dental Society, and the PA Society of Periodontology. Dr. Marcus is Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Marcus founded and is the Director of the Bucks County Mini-Residency Program. The Mini-Residency Program is an accredited continuing education program for dental professionals including dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, administrative staff, and laboratory technicians. The Mini-Residency is a study group consisting of a select group of outstanding dentists and dental specialists who join together in the pursuit of higher learning. Their goal is to keep their professional community in the forefront of dental technology while assuring their patients the most up-to-date treatment available. Dr. Marcus is an Eagle Scout who is active in Bucks County scouting having served as Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Den Leader and currently is a Unit Commissioner for a Bucks County troop.
