About Frederick C. Fehl, MD
I am a native Californian who grew up in the San Diego area. Even when I was a young child, I knew that I wanted to be a physician, in part because of the compassionate care I saw my mother receive during numerous visits to the Naval Medical Center San Diego. I knew I wanted to give back to the medical community and the US Navy for their wonderful care, so I attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. I did all of my medical training at the very hospital that cared for my mother. After fulfilling my commitment to the Navy, I joined the Scripps Clinic in San Diego, eventually serving as the chief of dermatology. However, I longed for the camaraderie that I enjoyed in the Navy. I was fortunate to find that spirit at Kaiser Permanente. I feel that healthy living and preventive skin care are the best ways to keep your skin healthy, but I am also here to help you when you are having problems with your skin. I specialize in treating diseases of the skin, including skin cancer. I feel honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family. I am blessed to have a wonderful wife, whom I met during our college years at UCLA. We have two sons in college who are the pride of our lives. We enjoy surfing, mountain biking, traveling, food, and music together. We love the sense of community we have here in San Diego and at Kaiser Permanente.
