About Helena B. Pasieka, MD
Helena Pasieka, MD, is the director of Inpatient and Consultative Dermatology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Pasieka is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Dr. Pasieka obtained her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at University of Michigan, and a Dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins University. She also obtained a Masters of Science degree in Biostatistics and Clinical Research Design from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School, and a translational research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her areas of research include inpatient and consultative dermatology, severe skin disease, and skin manifestations of internal disease or immunosuppression. She is also interested in issues related to access to dermatology and dermatology in public health. Dr. Pasieka is a member of many professional societies, including the Association of Professors of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Dermatology Hospitalists and the American College of Physicians. She is actively involved in research, and has authored many publications and abstracts, and has presented at several national and international conferences.
