About Ivy D. Derosa, DO
Dr. Ivy DeRosa completed her specialty dermatology residency training at Michigan State University. She was born and raised on the south shore of Long Island, New York. She began her educational career by attending Hofstra University in NY where she maintained high academic marks, Deans list and inductions into numerous honors societies, while working and volunteering. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a pre-medical Bachelor’s degree in biology. She was then accepted to New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. While there, she received honors and training in all medical and surgical sub-specialties. It was during these years she discovered her love for dermatology and after completing her internship training in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, was accepted for her competitive specialty training in dermatology through Michigan State University. While in residency, she was trained to treat a diversity of skin types, socioeconomic backgrounds and variety of pathological skin conditions. She had the opportunity to volunteer for Freedom Ink, a laser tattoo removal resource for ex-gang members who are rebuilding their life, and provided care to underserved clinics outside of Detroit, Michigan, and participated in free skin cancer screenings for the community. Her residency also provided her the opportunity to travel to Santo Domingo for a medical mission, where she saw and treated numerous exotic dermatosis. Dr. DeRosa is experienced in detecting skin cancers, performing various skin surgeries, various laser therapies, the assessment and treatment of acne, psoriasis, eczema, disorders of the hair and nails, pediatric skin conditions, and all diseases of the skin. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and is on clinical faculty for Michigan State University.
