About James M. Flynn, DDS
Dr. Flynn graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1982 following his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served out his three year commitment in the Dental Corps with assignments in South Korea and Colorado and one extended camping adventure in Germany during a MASH unit exercise as a division dentist. Upon his honorable discharge, Dr. Flynn opened a private practice in Denver, CO. Dr. Flynn and his wife, Barbara, married in 1992 and, after much discussion, decided to return to their home state of Michigan. Dr. Flynn developed his practice in Mt. Pleasant, MI. In spite of his professional success, the long winters of Michigan began to turn his family's attention toward more sunny, temperate climates. After a visit to Tucson in 2001, he, with the blessing of his family, decided to make a final move to Arizona. Not having to mow grass, rake leaves or shovel snow was very appealing! Dr. Flynn, Barbara, and daughter, Kelly, moved to Oro Valley in April, 2002. Officially, Flynn Dentistry opened in October, 2003. The Flynns' love of desert living with sunny, mild winters is as strong today as it was with their first visit as a family. Since his graduation, Dr. Flynn has been a member of the American Dental Association and state and local dental associations. He continues to improve his knowledge and expertise through various continuing education courses, dental study clubs, and collaboration with colleagues. At Flynn Dentistry, we believe there is no substitute for natural healthy teeth, and preventing dental problems before they occur is our goal for every patient. This involves appropriate daily home care and good nutrition, as well as regular checkups and cleanings - all necessities for good overall health. We provide general dental care for the entire family with a priority to help all of our patients achieve and maintain a healthy and attractive smile. We will work with you to develop your treatment plan, but ultimately the final decision on how and when to proceed is yours. My staff and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our practice!
