About James R. Nitschke, DMD
Dr. Jim Nitschke comes from a long family history in dentistry. Both his father and grandfather preceded him in the dental profession. He brings to his patients over 25 years of professional experience. Dr. Nitschke graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in 1986. Following graduation, he accepted an active-duty commission in the United States Air Force stationed at Andrews Air Force Base serving the military community as a general dental officer. While on active duty, Dr. Nitschke was deployed to USAF Biscester (U.K.) during the Gulf war and was later honorably discharged in 1992 having earned, among other honors, the Air Force Commendation Medal. Wishing to return to New York State, Dr. Nitschke eventually settled in Rochester, NY. Located just outside of Rochester in the town of Pittsford, NY, he maintains his private practice of Family Dentistry. Dr. Nitschke is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Seventh District Dental Society, the Monroe County Dental Society, and the Periodontal Centers of Rochester Study Club. These memberships help him to achieve his commitment to post-graduate education so that he continues to bring to his patients current techniques and technologies that give his dentistry “a level of care beyond compare. On a personal note, Dr. Nitschke is an avid woodworker and has made and restored many pieces of furniture for his home. He, and his wife Betsy, love the outdoors and with their two children spend much of their free time skiing, biking, hiking, and camping.
