About Jose Montoya, DDS
Dr. Jose Montoya was born in Nicaragua and moved with his family to Florida in the 1980’s. Watching his father, a medical doctor, take care of his patients helped him realize his love for the health sciences. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Southern Adventist University and afterward attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Montoya had plans to return to his family in Florida after completing his training but met Dr. Ramsey and quickly changed his mind. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Montoya worked steadily perfecting his hand skills while Dr. Ramsey completed her training. Drs. Montoya and Ramsey relocated to Dallas in 2009 but were drawn to Rowlett by family and the warmth of the community. Dr. Montoya likes to practice dentistry as if he was working in his own mouth and that is why he named his practice My Mouth Dental. He has a fine attention to technique and detail and wants each and every patient to feel like they are his number one concern. His daily goal is to educate his patients and provide them with long lasting, quality dental work. While all areas of dentistry interest Dr. Montoya, he has a special interest in cosmetic and also implant dentistry. He recently completed a six month implant preceptorship at UT San Antonio. Dr. Montoya also enjoys orthodontics and has training in the FastBraces system - an orthodontic program specifically designed for adults with all permanent teeth and minor alignment problems. Dr. Montoya is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society, and the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, Dr. Montoya enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, looking at cars, and trying new and interesting restaurants. Drs.Montoya and Ramsey welcomed their first child, Elizabeth ""Ellie"" Montoya, in July 2014 and hope that she will one day be interested in a career in dentistry.
