About Kathleen Kasper, DDS
Dr. Kathleen Kasper was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois. She comes from a large family consisting of her mother, four sisters and one brother. She attended the University of Iowa and received a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 1981. She later graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry in 1986. Awards she received while attending the University of Iowa College of Dentistry include, The Wesley Collins Darby Award for Outstanding Junior Dental Student in Clinical Operative Dentistry, The Operative Dentistry Achievement Award and The Dean’s Leadership Award. Dr Kasper proudly served in the United States Air Force Dental Corp from 1986-89, directly after graduating from dental school. She received an honorable discharge upon separation from the military. She started her own private dental practice in April 1994 in Carrollton, Texas and has been actively providing good quality family, esthetic and general dentistry services ever since. Dr Kasper makes it a top priority to attend dental continuing education seminars annually, most of the time surpassing minimum requirements mandated by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. She feels it is important to stay current on new and evolving trends in dentistry, particularly those involving dental materials, technological advances and clinical techniques. By keeping current, patients will be provided with the best treatment alternatives available. Dr Kasper has been a member of the Distinctive Dental Studies Club, a branch of the prestigious Seattle Study Club, since its inception in the Dallas area in 1999. This study club is unique in that it provides its members with extensive hands-on training, collective treatment planning sessions for complex dental cases and advanced continuing education seminars conducted by world class dental speakers. Dr Kasper is also passionately involved with forensic dentistry and was appointed as the Deputy Forensic Dentist to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office in Ft. Worth, Texas in March 2005. She received board certification in Forensic Dentistry from the American Board of Forensic Odontology in February 2010. Her hobbies include fossil hunting, exercise of any type, riding 4 wheelers and watching professional football. (In particular the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears).
