About Keith D. Roby, MD
Although born in Naples, Italy, I grew up in San Diego and consider myself a native of America's Finest City. I'm a graduate of Poway High School, and I completed my undergrad, medical school, and residency training all locally at UC San Diego. Following medical school, I spent a year in Utah, where I completed a transitional internship in Salt Lake City at Intermountain Medical Center, and then returned to San Diego to complete my dermatology residency at UC San Diego, where I served as the chief resident in dermatology and was elected as House Officer of the Year for the entire UC San Diego health system. Following graduation, I joined the faculty at UC San DiegoDermatology, where I cared for patients at both UC San Diego and the VA San Diego Hospital. I feel fortunate to now be able to work at Kaiser Permanente. I am a board-certified dermatologist who practices general medical dermatology and treats a variety of skin conditions. I aim to provide quality, personal, and comprehensive care based on current evidence and research. Balance in life is extremely important, and spending time with family, volunteering and adventure help me to maintain that balance outside of work. In my free time, I enjoy taking my daughter to the zoo, exploring with my wife, throwing my golden retriever a ball (though he rarely brings it back), surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and fishing. I am a volunteer clinical instructor with the UC San Diego Student-Run Free Clinic Project where I work with dermatology residents and medical students. I also enjoy organizing and participating in skin cancer screenings in the community.
