About Lawrence O. Martin, MD
Dr. Lawrence Martin was born in the East but raised in Illinois. His undergraduate education was at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and he is grateful for the excellent liberal arts and sciences and pre-medical education he received. In 2004, he was inducted into The Centurion Society, which was created by the Board of Trustees to honor outstanding Bradley Alumni for their career achievements in business, public life and the professions. Medical school followed at the University of Illinois in Chicago (1970) when it was the only site for medical students within the University state system. Two very influential years at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado included a year of internship and a year of general surgery residency. Dr. Martin returned to the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1972 to further his training by completing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (1975). Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was a major portion of the residency with excellent supervision and teaching from internationally known and respected surgeons. Board Certification in ENT-Head & Neck Surgery was achieved in 1975, and when the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was established in 1986, Dr. Martin became board certified in 1992. His current presentations and publications include “Rhinoplasty”, “Aesthetic and Reconstructive Facial Plastic Surgery”, “Nasal Surgery in Children and Teenagers”, “Facial Skin Resurfacing”, “BOTOX® Cosmetic and Fillers with Periorial Rejuvenation”, “Facelifts - What You Really Need to Know”, “The Sun, Your Skin and Topical Antioxidants”, “Head and Neck Cancer”, “Head and Neck Skin Cancer”, “Endoscopic Sinus Surgery”, “Abdominal Dermal Fat Grafts after Parotidectomy - A 25 year experience” and “The True Corset Neck-Lift - A 10 year experience”. Office seminars and quarterly newsletters are available to patients. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Martin is associated with an excellent hospital, Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, Illinois and St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He is also an attending surgeon at Northwest Community Day Surgery Center. Although he is inactive at present, he taught at the University of Illinois for over twenty years as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Martin is married, has three children and resides in Deer Park. An advocate of personal fitness and healthy lifestyles, his own “outside” activities involve the outdoors and all it has to offer including snow and water skiing, snowboarding and wake boarding, cycling, kayaking and hiking. He is a very active member of Midtown Athletic Club in Palatine where he spins and plays pickle ball.
