About Louis A. Shaheen, DDS
Hi, my name is Louis A Shaheen, DDS, and I have been practicing dentistry for over 33 years. I have been a member of the Mt. Morris community for over 30 years. I grew up in Detroit, was educated in Detroit, graduating with high distinction from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences in 1981. I went on to the University of Detroit School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1985. I came to Mt. Morris the year I graduated. I have been married to my lovely wife, Barbara, since 1980 and we have two daughters. My oldest daughter, Jennifer, is also a dentist, who practices in East Lansing. My youngest daughter, Juliette, is still in college, going for her degree in computer science. I strive to stay current by taking many continuing education classes in all aspects of dentistry. We try to incorporate all of this education with new technology. We have digital radiographs(which exposes you to less radiation), and we have a Cerec (same day crowns) machine and milling unit. Plus much more. I have been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Michigan Dental Association, along with the American Dental Association since 1985. Locally, I have been a member of the Mt. Morris Kiwanis since 1989. Kiwanis is a service organization whose function is helping children in need. In my spare time, I as so many other Michiganders do, go up north fishing and hunting. Recently, I have tried my hand at woodworking.
