Maku was mentored and trained by the internationally-recognized acne specialist and ethnic skin care expert Kathryn “Kat” Leverette for the past 10 years. Owner of Clinically Clear Skin Rehab Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Leverette has over 20 years of experience in the skin care industry, she is an extremely successful business owner, licensed esthetician, published author, educator, and balanced “momprenuer” (mom/entrepreneur). Leverette revolutionized the skin care industry with her ability to treat acne and address the ethnic skin care concerns that were being ignored. She is one of the first skin care professionals to use and write about alpha hydroxy acids, but is best known for successfully treating acne on ethnic skin, razor bumps, and other skin conditions affecting people of color. Maku could not ask for a better mentor and friend in this industry. In her Phoenix skin care practice Maku uses many of the advanced skin care products, protocols and treatment techniques developed by Kat. Most importantly, she will carry on the warm, welcoming, and healing environment Kat creates for clients, whether it is face-to-face, via email, or over the phone. Maku is grateful for the opportunity to have been educated by someone in this industry who understands the needs and concerns of clients and genuinely wants to make a major difference in their lives.
