About Marc N. Longo, MD
Dr. Longo is a native Houstonian and attended St. Thomas High School in Houston. He received a great deal of his training in the nearby, internationally-recognized Texas Medical Center. He’s a Longhorn through and through and completed undergraduate studies at The University of Texas (UT) in Austin, followed by a graduate medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (UTMSH) in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Longo served his internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Afterwards, he returned to Houston for a residency in General Ophthalmology and eye surgery. Dr. Longo returned to Dallas for fellowship training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Eyelids and Ocular Adnexa (surrounding tissues) and has focused his entire practice on this highly specialized field. Dr. Longo began his clinical practice in 1995 but continued interval training with some of the finest specialists in the country for laser eyelid surgery, endoscopic brow lifting, and facial contouring with botulinum toxin and facial fillers. He is Board Certified and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Longo founded Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons of Texas and its onsite surgery center in 1999. He is an active member of various medical organizations and participates in continuing medical education through both the Texas and Houston Ophthalmological Societies, Harris County Medical Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology to keep up to date. Dr. Longo has an appointment as a clinical assistant professor at UTMSH Department of Ophthalmology and MD Anderson Cancer Center to help physicians-in-training improve their knowledge. Giving back is an important part of his practice. He regularly participates in indigent care in our community by offering services to Houston Eye Associates Foundation and traveling for missionary eye surgery in Guatemala with Faith in Practice. As one of Marvin Zindler’s angels, he provided free surgery for people in need, featured on ABC13. Dr. Longo is happily married and cherishes his family time with his wife and two children. A devout Catholic, he attends regular Sunday mass. His favorite hobbies are cooking, gardening, tennis, golf, and shooting clays. He also loves playing with his dogs.
