About Marie C. Faynor, DDS
Dr. Faynor’s practice history includes many years in Community Dentistry as staff dentist in Federally accredited and certified Community Health Centers including the Hill Health center in New Haven, CT and the Staywell Community Health Center in Waterbury CT. Dr. Faynor’s Pediatric dentistry experience was gained through 5 years of practice with the Connecticut Oral Health Initiative in the Danbury Public School System. She has worked with special needs patients at The Great Bay Training School an Newington, New Hampshire and currently as Director of Dentistry at the Southbury Training School Dental Clinic. There she treats approximately 600 clients residing either on the Training School campus, or in private or State group homes, or with their families. With a Masters Degree in Nursing with 20 years of practice, Dr. Faynor is knowledgeable about the physiological, psychological , and emotional impacts that dental health status has on individuals. She has had experience treating various forms of oral infections in diabetic patients and those patients having or awaiting organ transplant. She understands the relationship between unrelieved pain during prior dental treatment and the creation of a dental “phobic”.
