About Maritza Perez, MD
Dr. Maritza Perez is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She is the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center, Associate Director of Procedural Dermatology at Beth Israel Medical Center and Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Mt. Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. Active in numerous dermatology organizations, Dr. Perez is the Senior Vice President of the Skin Cancer Foundation, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatology Foundation. Dr. Perez has published more than 100 original articles, chapters, case reports and abstracts that have appeared in medical journals such as Journal of Investigative Dermatology, New England Journal of Medicine, Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine, Journal of Transplantation, American Journal of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology. She is also the author of a book entitled Understanding Melanoma, which is currently in its fourth edition.
