About Michael G. Cedars, MD
Dr. Michael Cedars is an American Board of Plastic Surgery*-certified plastic surgeon, practicing his craft for 25 years in the San Francisco-East Bay. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Biology. A native of small-town Texas, Dr. Cedars and all three of his siblings were inspired to attend medical school by their surgeon father. In 1973 Dr. Cedars moved to California to attend medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. He then moved to Los Angeles for eight additional years of internship and residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, culminating in a fellowship in Craniofacial and Microvascular Surgery at UCLA. Dr. Cedars is married to Dr. Phyllis Cedars, a psychiatrist practicing in the East Bay. They have three children; two are following their parents’ footsteps into medicine and one filmmaker.
