About Michelle K. Maak, DMD
Dr. Michelle Kennedy Maak’s practice is focused on oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS), with specific surgical expertise in complex tooth extraction, including wisdom teeth and cosmetic facial interventions. Dr. Maak is a Utah native, and she obtained her undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Montana. She continued her dental school training at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Her specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery took place at Brookdale University Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center in New York, where she stayed as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the OMFS residency program. She also served as a Surgical Attending for 3 years at the Brookdale University Level 1 trauma center. Although Dr. Maak enjoyed her teaching position and the complexity of the oral surgeries she performed in New York, she ultimately desired to pursue her interest in cosmetic and facial surgery, and return to her home state of Utah. For this reason, she returned to Utah to obtain fellowship specialty training at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery. She continues to remain interested in education and in advancing her knowledge to improve the care of her patients. To this end, she has published academically in the prestigious Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
