About Michelle J. Place, MD
Dr. Place is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in Cosmetic surgery of the face and body. Dr. Place was born in South Africa and moved to California for high school. She attended Monte Vista High School and graduated with honors. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from St Mary’s College of California in Moraga. Dr. Place graduated with honors and was awarded the Carlos Frietas Award for Outstanding Scholarship as Biology major. Dr. Place completed her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She presented and published research in Otolaryngology, Urology and Plastic Surgery during medical school but her main interest was Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed a surgical internship at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia and then went on to do a three year General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California followed by a three year Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency also at Loma Linda University Medical Center. During her residency she continued her interest in research and presented and published papers in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
