About Nikki Thompson, Tattoo Specialist
I am Nikki Thompson owner, and one of the tattoo artist of Nikki' s Tattoo Studio. I started working as a full time tattoo artist in 1992. I opened my shop in Jan. Of 1995. A love of art and being an artist is what first interested me in tattooing. I love the entire process of helping somebody find the perfect design for their self expression, applying that design no matter how small and quick or how large & how long and drawn out the process. I realize I have made a change in their life forever. The greatest satisfaction comes when the tattoo is complete, I hand them the mirror and get to see the excitement and joy on their face-that's when I know I have done my job right. Although I am versed in all styles of tattooing. My favorite subject matter is wildlife/nature. I really enjoy the variety of work I get to do on a day-to-day basis. Different subject matter and tattooing different styles keeps me fresh. And, I enjoy tattooing anything. The majority of work I get request for now is custom, and allot of larger pieces. But, size really doesn't't matter to me. I just enjoy tattooing. I will never get tired of traditional tattooing, but in January 2003 I decided I did need a new challenge and I went and took an 80-hour course in cosmetic tattooing and areola restoration. I am certified in both of these. I went out to Portland Oregon in July of '05 to take a 20 hour class on advance techniques in permanent cosmetics and areola restoration and scar camouflage. In 2011 went to a Las Vegas for another 30 hour course. Which included banishing wrinkles, brown spots, & stretch mark repair via Microneedling (dry needling). In 2018, I was certified in SMP, in Florida, Scalp Micro pigmentation for balding areas, or whole head! Please visit the area of my site about cosmetic tattooing for more information. There you can see before and after photos as well as my certificates. I've had many different artist in my shop over the years. For a while now, it has been just me and one other artist, Jewel. This has been working very well, creating a good positive vibe in the studio. But, I have recently started working with an apprentice, Caitlin Propst. She is now ready to tattoo you too!
