About Richard C. Allen, MD

Dr. Allen is an oculoplastic surgeon in Houston, Texas, with affiliations to multiple hospitals in the area. He is currently a Professor with tenure at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology. He attended Baylor College of Medicine for his MD/PhD studies, completing a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa. He completed two fellowships, one in ophthalmic genetics and a second in oculoplastic surgery, both at the University of Iowa. He is a former Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, and an Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Iowa. He also held a clinical position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. ​He is also the author of Oculoplastic Surgery Videos, an education resource for beginning to advanced oculoplastic surgeons.
