About Sadaf S. Waqar, DO
Dr. Waqar opened Farmington Valley Dermatology in 2014 to meet the demand for dermatology in the Farmington Valley - Greater Hartford area. She previously worked since late 2012 at the Massachusetts and Rhode Island offices of an independent dermatology practice. She started her dermatology career in 2011 at a large regional multi-specialty group in Worcester, MA. She relocated to Massachusetts after completing a six-year dual internal medicine/dermatology residency in south Florida in 2011. Dr. Waqar has a special interest in dermatopathology; managing cutaneous lymphomas and autoimmune skin diseases; skin cancer surgery. During residency, she studied complex autoimmune connective tissue diseases and autoimmune blistering diseases under Dr. Francisco Kerdel, MD (University of Miami, FL); cutaneous T-cell lymphoma under the late Dr. Marie-France Demierre, MD (Boston University, MA); dermatopathology of melanoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NYC). Dr. Waqar is Board Certified in Dermatology and Internal Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. She is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, the Women's Dermatologic Society, and the Connecticut Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Society.
