About Shana Kalaria, MD
Dr. Kalaria was born and raised in Orange County, California where she graduated from high school as Valedictorian. She then attended UCLA majoring in Applied Mathematics and graduating as Summa Cum Laude. She left California for medical school at Penn State University where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors at the top of her class. She then moved to the south for residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston where she gained experience especially in aesthetic surgery. She concurrently completed an MBA at West Texas A&M University to gain an understanding of business. During her residency, she operated alongside the top plastic surgeons in Houston and performed over 3000 procedures. After graduation, she stayed on staff at UTMB where she is now serving as the Director of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She enjoys working with and teaching residents. She particularly enjoys performing rhinoplasty, face lift, blepharoplasty, breast lift, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and labiaplasty. Dr. Kalaria participates in many research projects and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. She also holds membership in some national societies including the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, being outside, and cooking.
