About Shannon M. Wiedersum, DO
Dr. Wiedersum was raised in Jamison, Pennsylvania and attended Central Bucks School District from kindergarten through high school. Her anatomy and physiology class in high school at CB South gave her the opportunity to rotate through Doylestown Hospital and piqued her interest in the medical field. She went on to study pre-med and earn her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. She obtained her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her third year of medical school, Dr. Wiedersum used her elective time to rotate through a dermatology office she was very familiar with, that of her own dermatologist, Dr. Toporcer. It was during that month that Dr. Wiedersum decided she would complete medical school with the goal of continuing her training in dermatology. She completed her internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown and her dermatology residency at Hackensack Meridian Health in northern New Jersey. Dr. Wiedersum served as the chief resident during her final year of residency. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and Women’s Dermatologic Society. Dr. Wiedersum enjoys all areas of dermatology including medical, surgical and cosmetics and has experience treating pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. She recently moved back to the area with her husband and daughter and is looking forward to serving her home community.
