About Swetha Kandula, MD
Swetha Kandula, M.D., board certified by the American Board of Dermatology is the founder and director of Dermatology and Skincare Arts. She is an expert at treating medical, cosmetic, pediatric and surgical conditions in dermatology. She has several years of experience treating with laser conditions such as redness, pigmentation, acne scars, leg veins. She aspires to be a leading Dermatologist in New Jersey. Her aim is to provide exceptional personalized care with an evidence-based approach in state-of-the-art facility which led her to establish Dermatology and Skincare Arts in Parsippany, New Jersey. Dr. Kandula is a graduate of dermatology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kandula completed a fellowship at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Prior to her practice in New Jersey she served as Senior Staff Instructor for the Harvard Medical School at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Kandula has also competed a residency in Internal Medicine which gives her a unique perspective and ability to treat dermatological conditions and associated medical issues. During her training Dr. Kandula won several accolades such as Barry Breen Memorial award for outstanding resident. She was chosen by her co-residents for Apple teaching award for best resident teacher. Dr. Kandula is currently on staff at Overlook Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System. She accepts all major insurances. Dr. Kandula had been invited to speak at residency programs to teach Dermatology residents locally and internationally. She is passionate about skin care and skin cancer prevention and had participated in outrun the sun, race against melanoma with continued volunteering at skin cancer screenings and locks of love. Dr. Kandula has been featured on television to educate public about skin care, sun protection and skin cancers. She has been invited as a injector trainer at Allergen Medical Institute program to demonstrate and teach other physicians about aesthetic procedures such as Botox and fillers such as Juvederm. Dr. Kandula considers a privilege to be a Dermatologist and has mentored high school students and medical students. She was invited to lecture at Millburn high school to present career prospects in the field of Dermatology. Dr. Kandula has coauthored and published numerous peer reviewed articles, book chapters, abstracts in the field of Dermatology in esteemed journals such as Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has presented her novel research at prestigious national and international dermatology conferences such as Society for Investigative Dermatology. She is an active member of American Academy of Dermatology and serves on the practice management committee. She is a fellow of American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
