About Tara Meachum, DDS
As a dentist, I get to witness what my work can do for people. I have been able to transform someone who puts her hand in front of her mouth before she'll speak to someone who can't stop smiling. I have been able to educate people so the dental disease that runs in their family doesn't continue. And sometimes my job is to simply ease someone's pain. All of these facets make my job more than just a job to me. It's more like a hobby. And like any hobby, I'm thrilled to learn more about each and every aspect. If I'm not in the office, most likely I'm attending a continuing education seminar, reading a dental journal, or attending a meeting for one of the associations I'm affiliated with. My next academic goal is to achieve mastership status with the Academy of General Dentistry. On a personal level, I am a mother to two beautiful children, Avery and Nolan, and a wife to my husband, Matthew. When I'm not focused on dentistry, I most enjoy spending time with them. In the summers we enjoy riding our bikes on the White Pine Trail to downtown Rockford where we live. In the winters, we try to get away and go snowboarding for a weekend or two. My hobbies also include creating anything to do with paper, fabric, and yarn.
